Madagascar has a maternal mortality rate of 550:100,000 live births.

BKFA have distributed over 43,000 kits in Madagascar since 2004.

BKFA work through the following organisations to distribute our kits;

MSI initially requested 400,000 kits in 2004. Dr Randrianasolo Baholisoa is the Senior Medical Manager responsible for distribution of our kits. The kits are distributed through traditional birth attendants and the government hospitals.25,856 kits were supplied up to 2007. 2007 - 2008 we supplied 9675 and in 2008 - 2009 we supplied 4600 kits. In 2009-2010 BKFA supplied 4,000 kits and in 2010-2011 5,000 kits were supplied.
